Emily Sledge is a bluegrass poet and screenwriter. 

Her honors include the Leon Driskell Creative Writing Award, a GNAS Travel, Research, & Creative Activities Grant, a 2025 EGO Academic & Professional Membership Award, an Honorable Mention in the 4th annual Annette Allen Poetry Prize, and runner-up for the 2026 University of Louisville Creative Writing and A&S Dean’s Office Poetry Award. 

Her work has appeared in Miracle Monocle, The Bangalore Review, Poetry Hotline, Ninth Heaven Literary Journal, Bad Limp, and The Cabin: Writers in the Attic Anthology Series, among others. 

She lives in Louisville, Kentucky and directs the Writing Center at Spalding University.

Her collections and chapbooks include Eye Work (2022-2024), A Look Through Lace Curtains (2023),  quietus (2024), and Workaday (2024).
