Emily Sledge is a bluegrass poet and screenwriter. She’s the recipient of a Leon Driskell Creative Writing Award, a GNAS Travel, Research, & Creative Activities grant, a 2025 EGO Academic & Professional Membership Awarding Project award, among other honors. She received an Honorable Mention for the 4th annual Annette Allen Poetry Prize and was the runner up for the 2026 University of Louisville Creative Writing and A&S Dean’s Office Poetry award. Her work has appeared in Poetry Hotline, Miracle Monocle, The Bangalore Review, Ninth Heaven Literary Journal, Bad Limp, The Cabin: Writers in the Attic Anthology Series, and elsewhere. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky and directs the Writing Center at Spalding University.
